The Wonderyears

Formed in 2007, Virginia
Water based The Wonderyears are believed to be the
seniors rock
chorus and band having performed to many full capacity audiences including a
number of
festivals such as Guilfest and Wokingham and have been filmed for national
television.
They beat 60,000
other acts by reaching the quarter finals of the 2012
and appeared on
BBC2s Eggheads competition. Since their formation,
The Wonderyears
have raised thousands of pounds for charities.
With an average
age of over 70 and the oldest at 88, the traditional view of grandparents is
soon shattered
when they start to belt out hard rock and punk as well as contemporary pop.
Founder and
Musical Director, Dave Thomas, says that life truly begins at 70.
The Wonderyears
demonstrate very powerfully that just because you qualify for a bus pass
and a winter fuel
allowance, you are not over the hill.
Their performances are both
inspirational and
entertaining and leave audiences with the feel good factor.
The Wonderyears
currently have no vacancies for new members,
but applications
to the waiting list are invited.
